HIA Anti-Tank Vehicle
The Muhk Naylr is an eight-wheeled AR/AT (amphibious reconnaissance - anti-tank) vehicle manufacturered by Haruspex International Armaments. It is based on the Jeban (Viper) 8x8 family of armored fighting vehicles. An excellent add on component when moving with armor or infantry. It's high speed offers it the defense of mobility, coupled with anti-infantry weaponry, ability to target enemy armor.
HIA developed and installed an internal and external ballistic protection upgrade package for the Muhk Naylr and sister vehicles. Also added was an automatic fire suppression system for the interior of the vehicle and a Generation II suspension upgrade to support the added weight of the new armor. The suspension upgrade includes new struts/steering knuckles, torsion bars, shocks and mounts and drive shaft.
The three-kit armor system provides the Muhk Naylr with additional survivability against improvised explosive devices (IED) and direct-fire kinetic energy weapons. The new armor provides protection from 14.5 mm armor-piercing rounds, and includes an anti-spall lining on the inside to further protect crew members.
For targeting and so forth, the Muhk Naylr uses the same system as it's sister the Jeban (Viper) AFV. The Thermal Targeting System (TTS) developed by VCI. The TTS provides the gunner and commander with thermal images, an eye-safe laser range finder, a fire-control solution and far-target location target grid information.
The vehicle is designed to traverse virtually all terrain and can climb at up to a 60% grade although at a much slower speed (About 10% of maximum road speed). It can also climb barriers and ford trenches. The vehicle can also handle side slopes of up to 30%.
With it's amphibious ability, the Muhk Naylr can travel on the surface on the water like a boat, at just over 6.0 mph (9.6 km/5.1 knots). It is not designed for deep water use.
